The court that gave Morales a green light burned
A courthouse, in the city of Santa Cruz in Bolivia have been burned down during the protests against the court’s controversial decision last week to give the green light for president Evo Morales to stand as a candidate in the presidential primary election in January.
Students began peaceful protests which then escalated into vandalism. The government blames the opposition for brandattacken while the opposition, in turn, says that it was carried out by criminals who infiltrated the demonstration.
the Opposition believes that the decision to Morales to get set up for a fourth term in office contrary to the constitution.
In a referendum in 2016 voted the country against the proposal of a constitutional amendment that would allow for Morales, who became president for the first time in december 2005, to set up. The leading party, the socialist MAS, however, has rejected the result and, according to Morales himself, it is his right to set up in an election.
