In divas Robe is tottering Anne Ratte-Polle on the stage and sings a sad ballad. “Your grocery store is gone. Your book store is gone. Your bakery is gone. Your Theater is the way“ the Berlin Blues, which brings the theme of the Evening to the point. The theatre is true, fortunately, not quite. And the great Anne Ratte – Polle, a protagonist of the old people’s theatre with “The Palace” by Constanza Macras to make a Comeback at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.

Also, Macras national stage experience brings. In 2007, she staged in the Prater “I’m not the only one”. With “The Palace” it shows for the first time, a world premiere on the big stage. Macras deals with a topic that is driving a lot of Berlin on the barricades: It’s about gentrification and displacement, the change from Berlin to a Global City’. The first part is a flashy-a satirical Collage of dance, drama, music and photography. Macras mobilized all the forces, the staging over long distances is a huge Drive.

highlights at the New Berliners realities

The dancers, the shy here as a dim-witted participants in a talent show and as a chorus of Entmieteten and disenfranchised occur before any embarrassment. They are driven by the electronic Sounds of Robert Lippock, which are complemented by the music of the trio on the stage. For a beautiful alienation effect, the photos of Tom Hunter, to be projected onto the curtains.

His protagonist, he staged in the style of the old masters. In front of a vegetable two men in black robes and white lace collar, reminiscent of Dutch painting stand on Kotti. In front of new buildings, a Nude posing as Botticelli’s Venus. The dancers flitting across the image, not always the stories of the photos with the stage connect to happen.

anger, resistance, and wit: Macras succeed in the spotlight on the Newcomers to the city realities. As in a comic strip, tells of a displacement scenario: The postal worker shall issue the letter of termination of the Investor, the tenants are protesting with slogans such as “This is our house”. The performers act in a rigid, stereotype and look like play mobile figures. The Gentrifizierungs doll game makes it clear here that invisible forces are at work. But one learns on this evening, also a lot about the shady business practices of the real estate industry. Zossen, where particularly many letter box companies are to find, is ironically referred to as the “Cayman Islands of Brandenburg”.

In the second part, the dancers in a stupid casting show must carry their skin to market. The pushy presenter, Luc Guiol, embodied, skin the candidate neoliberal beliefs to the ears, such as: “to be born Poor is no disgrace to die poor.” The dance routines are of grotesque ridicule. In their cheap Outfits, the performers throw themselves in silly poses and jiggle with the Po, a strained Smile on his face.

Which performances are hilarious

Anne Ratte-Polle as Proletta with MOP hairstyle as yet made the attempt a message out. “We represent the tenant community Zingster Straße 43,” she begins her monologue and circle then reported accordingly on the Fäkalschäden in your apartment. Macras, using the Format of Reality TV, the commercialization denounce. However, even if the performances are sometimes hilarious: you are not suited to globalization and gentrification of thinking.

So the evening head often – and then, in turn, something of a political Pamphlet. “The Palace” calls to revolt. The fabulous Anne Ratte-Polle makes clear that you can’t sell. Her defiant Credo is a Declaration of war: “My apartment is my Palace!”
