The Film begins so great, you want to bounce up and down in the cinema chair in front of pleasure: The frontal view of a house in the Argentine Pampa in the year 1975. Minutes long film it holds. People come out of the building, you get out of rooms quietly all Portable.

The owners seem to have the house in a hurry to leave, otherwise they would have left hardly all your belongings back. Cut in a pump full Restaurant. The first appearance of the provincial Prosecutor Claudio (Dario Grandinetti). While he is waiting for his wife, it comes to a dispute with a Stranger, later escalated to everything in a shot, a death Rattle, where to just let the injured to disappear?

In the Argentina of the 70s gets a lawyer serious problems: “Rojo”. Video: YouTube/Filmcoopi Zürich

The mood is depressing, suitable for incipient Argentine military dictatorship. At the time, opponents disappeared never to be seen again out of the picture – a motif that runs through the Film. Then, after exactly 23 minutes, is blood-red the canvas, the title “Rojo” appears – oh, glad to lures, this was only the prologue. The voltage is built up, so would like to go further. In the ear the Gurgling of the dying Stranger, still sounds like.

Unfortunately, however, the tension fizzles. It gives way to meaning pregnant allusions, such as traces of blood in the empty house that will not be resolved. Although the house and the Stranger continue to play a role, even a sleazy private Detective (Alfredo Castro) turns up, Director Benjamín Naishtat but bogged down the story into multiple strands. Including the figure drawing suffers. Naishtat seem to be the magnificently composed pictures are more important than the Plot. What remains? Compared with the beginning, disappointing end.
