The australian footballer Tayla Harris kicked the ball, as she has done countless times before. But little knew she, that just the spark should go and make her one of the most talked about female athletes in this week.

Not for sparkets precision or hardness – or essential. But because the photographer Michael Wilsson in the same second took a picture, edited it and put it up, so various subscribing media could take it and bring it.

Something the australian tv station Channel Seven did on his Facebook page.

the Image is razor sharp, as you can see above. And more than that. It captures a topatlet in his es. All in all a really good picture.

But the 21-year-old Harris’ position and stature got immediately the various followers of the Channel Seven to comment on it. And it was inappropriate comments. Sexually offensive comments.

In itself abhorrent and distasteful beyond all limits, and Tayla Harris has also made no secret that it has affected her tremendously.

To the radio station RSN, she was trying to explain:

– If they here people say such a thing to people they do not know on social media, what are they saying so behind closed doors, and what are they doing?

– These people must be identified by the AFL (the australian football league, ed.), yes, but it must also go beyond it. Perhaps it is the start of violence in the home, maybe it’s the start of the abuse, she says.

Prime minister Scott Morrison could not be put into words. In Melbourne on Thursday, he said the following to the attending journalists:

– I think they are some pigs. Some cowardly pigs who need to wake up, he thundered.

– Trolls on social media is no news today, unfortunately. But the horrible feature is, that here the trolls go after women, and they (the women, red.) become a target for overly much of the harassment that takes place online, said Scott Morrison.

It did not the situation better, to Channel Seven chose to peel the image – instead of just dealing with the people who had written inappropriate comments, and to moderate some comments.

It has received criticism from, among others, the minister, Kelly O’dwyer and the famous banerytter Anna Meares.

– How does this amazing picture of Tayla Harris (1) being seen as something negative and lure the trolls back and (2) that @7AFL took it as a result…it is amazing to me, she writes on Twitter.

O’dwyer, who is the women’s minister in Australia, has also condemned the station’s handling of the case.

@taylaharris is a superstar. She should be hailed for his talent and physical abilities, as we celebrate any male footballer. I am disgusted by the persecution that has taken place, she writes on Facebook and Twitter.

Channel Seven selected ago to put the picture on again added an apology, as it dawned on them that it was not so appropriate just to take it off.

Tayla Harris responds to the comments in the radio interview.

– The comments I saw, it was sexually offensive, because it was disgusting, and it made me uncomfortable. Something must be done. Whether it is the police who contacts them and gives them some kind of warning, Facebook deletes them. Something must be done. We can talk ever so much about it, but they listen not, after all, and they’re probably smiling about it, she said in the interview.

Channel Sevens director, Gillon McLachlan, expressed regret, as he on Wednesday explained it from his point of view.

– It is a challenge with the platform, the social media, because there is not a solitary case. I think it is a remarkable image which shows a great exercise in her primary position, he said.

News Corp could Thursday to announce that the AFL’s integrity unit would open an investigation and cooperation with Channel Seven in the efforts to identify the persons who have written the offensive comments. The consequences can be some of the same, which is surpassed fans in the stadium, who have made trouble; the quarantine, for example.
