when you think of American landscapes, the deep Canyons and spectacular rock formations from the West of the USA come to mind inevitably. But there is also in the East of the country, a wild and romantic national Park, especially for visitors from Overseas is less known.
The Acadia national Park is something Rhoden is greater than the Canton of Appenzell inner-and is expected to be one of the reasons that the East coast was the state of Maine from the Traveller’s Bible, Lonely Planet, chosen as one of the regions you should visit in 2020, necessarily. With its Mix of rugged sea coast, colored forests and granite white the Park peaks of delight as well as his Cousins in the Wild West.

The day begins in Acadia national Park, where the first sun rays hit the American mainland; on the summit of Mount Cadillac, with 466 meters above sea level the highest point far and wide. To experience the sunrise on Mount Cadillac, is practically a part of the obligatory program of every Acadia visit.
Accordingly, the Parking spaces are occupied early in the morning. Who comes to late will be punished by life – or in this case: the Park warden. Relentlessly send wild parkierer before the dawn on the way back. Who wants to take any risk, you can also climb the mountain on foot. Alone in this contemplative experience, but one way or the other is not.

granite rocks, once covered by glaciers ground, the seat for the impending color spectacle. Announced by an orange-pink stripe on the horizon, the first rays of the sun and the views of the sparkling sea, small island chains, and now and then the Silhouette of a mighty cruise ship is free. Accompanied by the “Wow”murmurs of other visitors and the sound of clicking cameras, it looks to the coast of Maine during the awakening.

43 kilometers of rugged beauty
The early Watch is worth in two ways; early in the morning it goes on a tour of discovery through the diverse Park. This is developed on the basis of the 43-kilometre-long Park Loop Road so that it can be explored in typical American style with car.
the starting point is the Hull’s Cove Visitor Center is. Anyone who wants to, leaving his own vehicle and instead rises in one of the Park shuttles. The sea is almost always in the field of view, for the most part as a one-way street lined sections of the Route of the lakes and mountains, forests and the majority of the rocky coastline. An exception is the “Sand Beach”, in the East of the Peninsula forms. The only sandy beach in the Park draws the visitor immediately into its spell. Framed by rugged cliffs and green fir trees, he invites you to linger. The jump into the water, however, is not for the faint-hearted; the temperature drops in the summer months on little more than 13 degrees.

Only a few kilometers away, waiting for the Thunder Hole next to the Park Highlight. Here, proved of the Atlantic, especially his Power. An explosion and a loud roar, the water from a rocky gap shoots up to ten meters in height. Indicative of the strength of the Atlantic bounces here on the coast, are also limitations of the existing Barriers. 2009 have been recorded on this coast, three people from a particularly violent wave section and washed away. Two were rescued.
