hikers filmed on Saturday morning a bear on the Riederalp. The service for the hunting, fishing and wild animals (DJFW) was able to confirm on the basis of the images officially, that it is, in fact, a bear.
Currently running steps to identify the pet , said the Department for hunting, fishing and wild animals (DJFW) of the Canton of Valais on Saturday evening. The walkers kept the bears in the moosfluh area on the Riederalp film. The bear is currently in the territory of the Federal no-hunting area (Aletsch forest).
The DJFW ordered according to their own information to the competent game warden and a biologist on site to evidence for sampling for DNA-find analysis. The latter is intended to show whether it is the same individual that was observed last year in the Region of Sanetsch.
The DJFW asks the population to report any findings such as traces or observations of the animal to the competent gamekeeper or the service. (fal/sda)
