I’m eight, as I experience for the first Time, as my Daddy would kill a man.

The book
is A Trend, it is perhaps not (yet), but striking it is: Younger author enter the inside from the USA, your detective novels with a feminist Twist, by strong women from the gangster milieu do to the heroines of their stories. According to Lola Vasquez, the Band Director from the urban jungle of South Central in Los Angeles (“Lola” by Melissa Scrivner Love, here are presented two weeks ago), we learn now, Harley McKenna, the young heiress of a drug production and weapons shifter clans in the rural Expanses of Northern California, “flows where blood fast and very own laws apply”.

Harley is the Icherzählerin in “River of Violence”, the first novel for adults, the youth’s book author Tess Sharpe. Harleys Childhood “turned not to the bikes and swimming parties, but to the weapons, rounds of full metal jacket and the encrusted blood of other men under the Duke’s finger nails”. Duke is her Daddy. He produced Crystal Meth, and smuggled weapons. He has the Power in the Region, he saw with brutal violence. But now he is Dying, while friends and enemies think that he was doing in Mexico. For Harley, it is called: now or never. You don’t want drug addiction and murders will continue to dominate the area. So you have to pull a few men, the death after Dukes the business would take over from the traffic. The 22-Year-old wants nothing fucking less than “a better world, one more time”. Harley, who had lost her mother in the Explosion of a Meth lab early, was raised by the Duke so that they can one day take over his role. “If you pull, you need to be fully prepared to kill, Harley-Girl,” was one of his rules. But Harley has had enough of the never-ending spiral of violence. Most of the woman’s house that had built her mother in a former Motel of the family. And she knows: There is nothing Stronger than “a woman has risen from the ashes of a fire that has placed a man”.

Tess Sharpe tells of the campaign of Harley, which lasts three days, in strong scenes. In between chapters with formative events from Harley’s Childhood and youth, which will make the current action is understandable. Compared to “Lola” like “River of Violence” part is a little pathetic and idealistic. But Tess Sharpe is a fascinating Thriller. Impressive, as it shows the inner turmoil of its heroine. If you imagine about your Daddy as “a man with bloody hands and a sinister heart. He has loved me. He terrorized me. He has made me what I am.”
