One of the plants that were stolen was a 400 year-old bonsai tree which would be set out in a japanese beauty pageant in February, reports CNN.
the Owner Seiji Iimuras family has a long tradition of cultivating the bonsai tree. He is the fifth generation bonsaimästare and operates the garden in Kawaguchi, north of Tokyo, together with his wife Fuyumi Iimura. They say they have taken care of the trees as if they were their own children.
” I hope that whoever took bonsaiträden see to water them. Bonsaiträdet lived for 400 years. It needs care and can not withstand a week without water, ” says Seiji Iimura to CNN.
