Brazil’s right-wing populist head of state Jair Bolsonaro has lodged a complaint against the results of the presidential election at the end of October. A corresponding request for an extraordinary review of the vote was received by the electoral authority TSE on Tuesday.

According to broadcaster CNN Brasil, the incumbent wants the results of some electronic voting machines to be declared invalid. A statement from the TSE was initially not available. The advance was given little chance because she ratified the outcome of the election.

The left-wing politician Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva emerged victorious from the vote. He is scheduled to take office on January 1st.
