Larsson went out in the first round of the WTA tournament in Hobart after the loss in two straight sets against the 22-year-old australiskan Zoe Hives, 6-7, 6-7.
It was the 211:e-ranked Hives first victory on the WTA tour, and a nice scalp against the seasoned Swedish. Hives came into the tournament through a wildcard, and has also received the same ticket into the Australian Open, which starts next week.
