It was in the beginning of the week as a Polish journalist by Wallraffning revealed that sick animals were slaughtered for sale in a slaughterhouse in Poland. Up to a quarter of a tonne of meat from the sick animals have been sold to Sweden. Initially it seemed that the meat has only reached four wholesalers at different locations in Sweden.
Now it turns out that 14 kilograms of bad meat has been sold to a hotel in Uppsala, where the meat also has been eaten up.
” Yes, it is the data we have received. Most of the meat has not, however, been eaten up, ” says Li Hermansson, livsmedelsinspektör.
She also says that a further 80-90 kilograms of bad meat may be in circulation there in Sweden.
” They have gone away further from the facilities that we have responsibility for. And then we don’t really know what has happened, ” says Li Hermansson.
Louise Nyholm, statsinspektör on the Nfa says that it is missing the flesh, it is likely that within the Nfa control.
– We keep on tracking it up for the full now, I have been at it all day. And the further down the chain you go, the more facilities it gets. We can not comment on either case. Now we need to let these companies work with this and we control authorities to monitor so that we get control of this meat, ” she says.
There is currently no information that any person shall have become sick of eating by the flesh. There is also no evidence to suggest that the Swedish companies to have done something wrong when they bought the meat from Polish slaughterhouse.
