Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) wants to be Ursula von der Leyen (CDU) appears to have significantly less financial resources than the defense had requested a Minister. The mirror Online reported. Accordingly, the defence budget is set to rise substantially in the coming year to be more moderate than expected: Instead of the logged-47.2 billion Euro, therefore, only 44.7 billion Euro should be available. This represents an increase of 1.5 billion Euro compared to the previous year, instead of the required four billion of additional resources.
