the 19-year-old was Sergei Polunin, who was born in Ukraine but who now is a Russian citizen, the british royal ballet’s youngest soloist ever. He is considered to be one of the world’s most talented dancers of his generation and has been compared with the Russian dansikonen Rudolf Nurejev. However, he was quickly balettvärldens “bad boy” who partied, tweeted and took drugs.

Polunin, perhaps best known for a video for Hoziers huge hit ”Take me to church”, directed by David LaChapelle. The video has over 26 million views but the song is ironically an attack on the catholic church’s anti-gay stance, and in the original video are fleeing a homosexual couple from a judgmental.

2017 was Polunin protagonist in the acclaimed documentary ”the Dancer”, where the audience got an insight into his exceptional life.
