The summit between US President Donald Trump, and North Korea’s ruler, Kim Jong-Un in Hanoi has brought no breakthrough. According to the White house Thursday, the Meeting went without an agreement to a premature end. Both heads of state left the summit Hotel and drove with their vehicles. A lunch planned joint working lunch was held.
As the reason for the Failure of Trump North Korea called the demand for an abolition of sanctions. “We couldn’t make it. All the sanctions are still in force,” said the US President at a press conference in Hanoi immediately after the Meeting. Kim have, however, promised that his country will not resume nuclear weapons tests. Kim had assured not to test missiles, or “anything that has to do with atomic energy”.
Also differences over the removal of the nuclear facilities in North Korea have to the premature end of the summit. The U.S. side had asked Kim, except for the plant for the enrichment of uranium for nuclear weapons in the nuclear complex in Yongbyon to close a further site at another location, said Trump in Hanoi. “I think he was surprised that we knew about it.”
Kim has confirmed to Trumps details of his previously expressed intention to close the nuclear complex in Yongbyon. Trump asserted that it was quite for a lifting of sanctions. In return, North Korea would have to do “more”. To said the vague concept of “denuclearization” nuclear disarmament is circumscribed, Trump: “a Lot of people know what it means, but for me it is pretty clear. “You have to give up their nuclear weapons.”

in order To cancel the meeting, Trump said: “Sometimes you just have to go, and this was one of those moments.” Trump assured, that his personal relation to the North Korean power commander continues to be good. “We like us,” said Trump. There is a “heat” in your relationship, “and I hope that it stays that way”.
First agreed to another Meeting
trump’s spokeswoman Sarah Sanders announced in a written statement, the negotiating teams would meet, but “in the future”. A new summit between Trump and Kim has not been agreed to, in the words of the US President.
The summit had begun on Wednesday evening with a short four-to-one conversation and a dinner. The talks the two leaders had taken place on Thursday behind closed doors. It should, in particular, concrete steps demanded by the United States “the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula”.
Kim would a U.S. liaison office in North Korea welcome
Kim had previously welcomed the opening of a U.S. liaison office in his country and has confirmed its readiness in principle to denuclearization. At the Meeting in the Vietnamese capital, Kim said, responding to a journalists question, a liaison office in Pyongyang would be “welcome”. Trump said, such an idea was a “great thing”. A liaison office does not have the rank of an Embassy, but it would mean a step towards a normalisation of relations between Washington and Pyongyang.
Trump is no longer urged North Korea to a rapid disarmament. “I’m in no hurry,” he said. He added: “speed is important to me. For me, it is important that we get the right agreement.“ Trump welcomed at the same time that North Korea had tested for more than a year, no nuclear weapons and missiles.
With the statement, “do not rush” more on nuclear disarmament, the US President his job, at least initially, in dealing with North Korea repeatedly demanded the rapid elimination of nuclear weapons and missiles. The leadership in Pyongyang sees its nuclear Arsenal as an insurance policy against possible attacks or coup attempts.
currently no time schedule for nuclear disarmament
At their first summit in June last year in Singapore, had agreed Trump and Kim on a “denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula”. Concrete steps, however, were not agreed. Also a time frame remained open. The pressure on Trump is now grown, to get out of Kim concrete Commitments.
