The U.S. Senate has voted by a large majority against a quick troop withdrawal from Syria and Afghanistan and that US President Donald Trump under pressure. A corresponding addition to strengthen a draft law with the title of “America’s security in the Middle East” was introduced by Trumps Republicans. There it is, “that the hasty withdrawal of US troops from the two countries could jeopardise the hard-won gains, and the national security of the United States”.
