If the news is not a surprise in itself, the oppositions did not fail to seize it to denounce the continuity of the action and the policy of Emmanuel Macron. According to information from Figaro, the President of the Republic has confirmed Elisabeth Borne to Matignon, for the sake of “stability”, after weeks of hesitation and procrastination. All this against a backdrop of persistent rumors of a reshuffle, while the “hundred days”, recorded by the Head of State, have just ended. Quickly Monday evening, the main opposition figures criticized this very political choice of tenant of the Élysée. “For nothing to change, nothing must change,” mocked the former presidential finalist Marine Le Pen.

“The maintenance of Elisabeth Borne at Matignon reflects the dramatic disconnection of the President of the Republic who has lost all contact with the people and condemns the country to impotence and immobility”, also castigated the president of the RN group at the Assembly. His successor at the head of the nationalist formation Jordan Bardella made fun of Emmanuel Macron’s decision with a joke: “You don’t change a losing team.” For the moment, no tenor of the Republicans has reacted.

On the other side of the political spectrum, on the far left, the leader of the Insoumis deputies Mathilde Panot also fired red balls at the executive. “Nobody wants to get on a sinking boat. Macronie is shrinking. We will succeed in turning the page on their world of misfortune,” she quipped.
