Today looks Greg Van Avermaet back to 2009 — has the past decade brought what he had expected? and he predicts where he is about ten years – with now all the picture from 2029.
Or he has changed much in ten years time? Greg Van Avermaet (33) is yes, and fortunately in a positive way. “I’m really a skeptic when I was young,” he says. Today it feels life comfortable, but the biggest challenge is yet to come. What about ten years?
What was your life like when you were 23?
“I was still living at home with my parents. There were plans to go live with Ellen, but actually I was good where I was sitting. I was groomed: no worries, no cost.”
You seem to have a broekventje on the photo of when. Had you been an adult?
“Not really. When I was much verlegener than it is today. I was lucky that I the course had, because otherwise I would not have known what I needed to do. After my secondary school I didn’t know what I had to study, I was not ready for that choice. I knew that I profsporter wanted to be a football or cycling, that didn’t matter. That my life has direction. I was happy that I was on my 23rd no questions more to ask.”
if you are a lot has changed in those ten years?
“I’m really a skeptic when I was young. I would doodnerveus have been for an interview like this. The question was always: ‘I’ll Do it, okay?’ Today I am much more confident and I can be more myself. Everyone makes that development, I think, isn’t it?”
