RSCA’s Young Talent Signs Contract Until 2027
Content: Anderlecht’s academy continues to prove its worth not only in developing talent but also financially, as seen with the upcoming transfer of Zeno Debast to Sporting Lisbon. Despite recent changes at Neerpede, the Brussels-based club remains committed to nurturing homegrown talent.
Anderlecht recently announced that 16-year-old midfielder Alexander De Ridder has signed his first professional contract, keeping him at the club until at least 2027. De Ridder, who impressed with his technical skills and explosiveness upon his arrival at Lotto Park six years ago, was praised by his coaches for these qualities which led to him being deployed in midfield.
Born in Kiev, De Ridder is described as a calm individual who divides his time between his family home in East Flanders and the boarding school in Anderlecht. Last season, he featured for the U16 team and caught the eye at the Future Cup hosted by Ajax. Academy Director Mikel Hemmersmam is excited about De Ridder’s potential, highlighting his winning mentality and playing style that aligns with Anderlecht’s values.
With the possibility of making his professional debut for RSCA Futures in 1B in the upcoming season, De Ridder follows in the footsteps of other young talents like Théo Leoni and Mario Stroeykens who have already made an impact at the senior level. It remains to be seen if De Ridder can continue this trend and establish himself in the first team alongside his peers.
