Friday morning, Danish time played Anders Antonsen first on from the quarterfinals with a victory of 21-13, 21-13 to Lee Zii Jia from Malaysia.
the Dane made short work and was ready for the semifinals in just 35 minutes.
Anders Antonsen was never behind in the first set. He brought himself along the way in front of 14-9 and 18-10, before he took the first set 21-13 in the first sætbold.
the Second set was won with the same digits. This time it was Lee Zii Jia better with, but behind 7-8 found Antonsen a strong streak with nine points in a row.
It settled the real battle.
Later it was sjetteseedede Viktor Axelsen in action against fjerdeseedede Chen Long from China. Abreu went into the fight with a bad record against the chinese.
12 of the 14 mutual encounter was ended with chinese victory, most recently in last week’s Malaysia Masters.
Viktor Axelsen was however different well running in Friday’s contest. The two players took turns to take the lead in the first set, but since it had to be settled, struck out Abreu to with four points at the stripe.
Abreu was playing in a high tempo and forced the Chen Long to make a mistake. The chinese beat out the field in several crucial duels, and the dane did not find it difficult to play out comfortably in front against the chinese, who apparently lost the courage.
Abreu took the second set and won the match 21-18, 21-14, and he meets now førsteseedede Kento Momota of Japan in the semifinals.
Herredoublen Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup is also on to the semifinals. The femteseedede danes beat Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda of Japan in three sets.
The tredjeseedede opponents had good fat in Astrup and Skaarup in the first set, where they only got nine points. But the two put sætsejre sent the danes on to the semifinals.
