Around 150 people participated in the XV Edition Trofeo la Giganta -Memorial Ismal Valverde in Iznalloz. This was the seventh valid test for the Diputacion De Granada Half Marathon Circuit 2022. This pure BTT event was organized by the CDC Iznalloz in conjunction with the local town hall. It took place in the Sierra Arana Natural Park. This park is one of the most beautiful places in the province.
A 47-kilometer route with approximately 1,150m of elevation gain was a long one. There was a front group consisting of approximately ten bikers, who rode solo until the end of the race. Three men fought for the victory at the Penon de la Giganta later. Master 30 Diego Alcala (Dr. Bike Nicaragua) was able defeat his two competitors to cross the finish line in triumph with just over half an hour. He beat Juan Miguel Planas, CD Berbikes, and Emilio Jose Castilla, by this order.
Lola Leyva (Semar), Granada’s woman’s champion, was a monologue in the women’s race. She rode with a wide margin and it was getting wider as she went along. She has won a new absolute victory that will allow her to continue dominating her category. Raquel Martin (Dr. Bike Grannada) is the second female classified. Maria Nieves Cantos, third (Sabika), is the third.
