The Dutch national football team no longer needs to come to the field to give out autographs. Bitvavo, the largest Dutch crypto exchange and proud partner of the KNVB, will launch their specially developed robot arm during EURO2024. With this arm, fans can have their football shirts signed with autographs from their favorite players of the Dutch national team. The robot can be found in the official KNVB fanshop at Utrecht Central Station. During the 2022 World Cup, captain Virgil van Dijk led the list of most requested autographs, followed by Frenkie de Jong.

Bitvavo brings Orange closer to the fans
“Bitvavo is a partner of the KNVB. That’s why we wanted to find something to make that partnership visible,” says Marcel Ribbens, Head of Brand and Communication at Bitvavo. “Our company is all about Crypto and new technology. That’s why we came up with something innovative like a robot arm that signs autographs. It’s great to see fans lining up to get an autograph from their favorite player. Of course, it’s the ultimate experience to stand in front of your Orange hero, but the reactions were very positive.”

Since June 10, Orange has been cut off from the outside world. The Bitvavo robot arm has programmed all the signatures of the players in the Euro selection. Orange fans can still score an autograph from players such as Denzel Dumfries, Virgil van Dijk, Tijjani Reijnders, and Xavi Simons, among others.

The campaign seamlessly fits the KNVB motto “Create History.” For fans who have a shirt signed, it is a moment they will remember. It is a lasting memento of their Orange heroes. Marcel Ribbens: “With these autograph robots, we bring Orange closer to the fans.”

Official KNVB Fanstore at Utrecht Central Station
The KNVB has established a fan store for the first time ever at Utrecht Central Station, where the robot arm has a prominent place. This store is open daily and free for everyone to access. Fans can have signatures placed on both newly purchased shirts and older orange shirts.

KNVB and Bitvavo extend partnership until 2026
Bitvavo has been a partner of Dutch football since March 2022, alongside ING, Nike, KPN, Albert Heijn, and Nederlandse Loterij. The KNVB and Bitvavo have extended their partnership until July 2026. Innovation is central to the partnership between the KNVB and Bitvavo, especially in the area of Orange experience.
