More Sport Fanny Lecluyse has placed itself for the final of the 50m breaststroke at the world short-course in Chinese Hangzhou. The Kortrijkzaanse klokte with 30.15 the sixth fastest in the semi-finals. The eight best times pushed through to the finale Wednesday (12 pm Belgian time) on the program.

In the series swam Lecluyse 30.34, the tenth time of all contestants. Her Belgian record amounts to 29.74, swim in december 2015 at the european CHAMPIONSHIPS short-course in the Israeli Netanya. The Jamaican Alia Atkinson klokte the fastest time with a 29.54. Two years ago, Lecluyse at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in the Canadian Windsor eighth in the final. The West-Flemish is in Hangzhou also Friday (100m breaststroke) and Sunday (200m breaststroke) in action.

Next Lecluyse is Emmanuel Vanluchene is the only Belgian participant at the european CHAMPIONSHIPS short-course. He starts Wednesday at the tournament during the series of the 100m butterfly. Then follow on Thursday and the 100m individual medley Saturday and the 100m free stroke.

Japanese Seto with new WR

The Japanese Daiya Seto improved the world record in the final of the 200m butterfly. Seto picked up the world title in a time of 1:48.24 and was 32 hundredths faster than the previous besttijd of the South African Chad le Clos (1:48.56, swim in 2013 in Singapore). Le Clos took silver, and swam myself a new personal record (1:48.32). The bronze went to the Chinese Zhuhao Li (1:50.39).
