Foreign Soccer, Magnus Hedman, the former goalkeeper of the Swedish national team, has deep seated. Very deep, even. After his active career hit, the now 45-year-old Swede hooked on drugs and at one point he wanted to even end it, but in the meantime, he is on the better hand. In The Sun he takes the story. “I just couldn’t do without to function.”

Hedman was in his active career, to 58 international matches for the Swedish national team. At club level, he was especially in Coventry City successful, then there is also another (less successful) passages followed by Celtic and Chelsea. In 2011, almost four years after his departure to the ‘Stamford Bridge’, he had to deal with a depression. Cocaine was in the meantime, the only consolation has become, and he thought even at a time to end it. “I spent hours and hours on my balcony, on the twelfth floor, to doubt whether I would jump. But I’ve then not done it.”

His problems began one morning when he is in his own apartment to get it was from a heavy night out. Some of his friends were also of the party, and one of them offered Hedman speed, to the hangover. “I thought, why not I try it. But I was hooked immediately and stayed that, for four years.” It started at speed, but later it became cocaine. The 58-fold international reveals that he his whole fortune to it and sniffed, by daily use. “The drugs helped me to calm down. I seemed to me not to worry was about, but while destroyed the my life.”
