Tennis David Goffin (ATP 24) is in Marseille for the first time this year in the semi-finals of an ATP tournament. The person from liege, take it later in the day against the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 12). Goffin expects a “very difficult” match.

Goffin won in the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-4 by the Frenchman Gilles Simon (ATP 32). “The match went as I had expected. There were a lot of balwisselingen. I had to be there from the first point, and held this to the end full. I am very satisfied, because the second set was very difficult. Gilles clings and tries to get in the head of his opponent to get, so that eventually goes under. But I succeeded in the competition to continue and to find the right balance between attack and solidity. I was serene and ready to take even three hours to play. I also got more points on my first storage, that has made the difference.”

The Belgian number 1 is now the Greek talent Tsitsipas, the first seed in Marseille. “Stefanos remains the past few months, but progress. For the first time in our confrontations, I will be the outsider. He is first seed, everyone expects that he wins the tournament. I’m going to try to take advantage of that status to be a good match to play and him to surprise”, decided Goffin.

Tsitsipas watching Goffin for the fifth time in the eyes on the ATP circuit. It is 2-2 in the mutual confrontations. “I will be good tennis on the court and have to bring,” said the Greek. “David has proven in the past that he’s very good at tennis, and he does so now again. He has a lot of experience. I have tar on my youthfulness, which might have a slight advantage. I will be patient, geconcentreed and aggressive. Also mentally I need to be strong. It tells me that I am the man to beat am, but I try not to think about it.”
