KRC Genk Star Player Attracting Interest from Top European Clubs

KRC Genk had a disappointing season and is now facing the possibility of losing several key players. Bilal El Khannouss, in particular, seems ready for a big move and a top transfer.

The Moroccan midfielder has been linked with a transfer for some time now, and this summer seems to be the perfect time for it to happen. El Khannouss is a standout player in the Jupiler Pro League, attracting interest from several top European clubs.

There has been significant interest from Germany, with RB Leipzig and reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen reportedly leading the race to sign the attacking midfielder. Bayer Leverkusen sees El Khannouss as the ideal replacement for the highly sought-after Florian Wirtz.

But it’s not just Germany that is interested. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Lazio is closely monitoring El Khannouss’ situation. With El Khannouss’ market value estimated at thirty million euros, KRC Genk can already sense the potential for a lucrative deal.

Despite being under contract until 2027, the 20-year-old El Khannouss is in a strong position for negotiations. While KRC Genk is open to letting the midfielder move on, it will only be for the right price.

El Khannouss, a product of Anderlecht’s youth academy, made the move to Limburg at a young age. In the last season, the Moroccan international scored three goals and provided eight assists in fifty competitive matches.
