Lufthansa Sees 200,000 Extra Bookings During Euro Cup

Lufthansa has announced that they have received around 200,000 additional bookings for the period during the Euro Cup in Germany. The tournament is taking place in various cities in Germany including Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt.

To accommodate the increased demand, Lufthansa is adding numerous extra flights during the event, with a focus on travel to and from Great Britain. The airline is going all out for the football tournament, which kicks off on June 14th and lasts for a month. On six aircraft, the usual ‘Lufthansa’ branding will be replaced with ‘Fanhansa’. Passengers on board will have access to live match updates through a special digital portal. The interior of the planes has also been specially adapted for the football spectacle.

KLM has also reported an increase in bookings to Germany on and around the days when the Dutch national team plays. However, specific numbers were not provided by the airline.
