– It was not any gender victory. But it was a clean arbejdssejr! And it was driven home. For me personally, it was a really shitty match. And I was not really in time with what I would like – and otherwise blew it.
It was words from the 29-year-old Mikkel Nielsen (8-0) to Ekstra Bladet after weltervægterens titles over the 34-year-old Swedish opponent Karlo Tabaghua (18-13).
A messy match with lots of hard infights:
– I was lured by on his games … He would constantly check on the body and press on. Usually I like infights, but in the day it ran not at all for me. So it ended up being a really, really tough fight, admits Mikkel Nielsen.
The Danish boxer was a weight class down to Saturday’s duel:
– I have lost so many kilos the last few weeks – so it was hard up in the ring! In the last two laps I started to wheeze – although the preparations leading up to the fight otherwise have been good.
It was Swedish Karlo Tabaghuas 10. defeat in a row. But even though rekordlisten not immediately scares, so it was nevertheless a rugged boxer, who gave Mikkel Nielsen battle to the line.
Tabaghuas have previous bl.a. fought against the current european champion Sergio Garcia and the undefeated German Sebastian Formella. A level, which is caused Mikkel Nielsen problems.
– Maybe he has (Karlo Tabaghua, red.) lost a part of his most recent fights, but he in turn has met with very strong boxers – and also turned a part of them. Not at all an unworthy opponent.
– We bumped our heads together in 1. place, and it did the satme hurt! And yes, I got two blow straight in the squeaky-clothes – and blow number two brands I damn still! It gets you mega-frustrated over, and you lose your head a little. But it is fine enough to try it for the big battles: that the boxes a shitty match, but still get the work through, said Mikkel Nielsen, who now can look forward to a less heavyweight championship at the upcoming Peter Forsman-boksestævne in Aarhus for may.
– I’m not younger. I’m about to be an old fox. So it should happen soon. But I am me, first and foremost, to have free a week or two. I have not kept boksefri in two to three years, because I haven’t shown, when the fighting came. But to have something really serious to train up to also give blood on the tooth! he said.
the boxing promoter Peter Forsman:
– Mikkel Nielsen boxer always tough matches. But it was incredibly important with a win. Now he gets a title shot in Aarhus in a small alliance. And if he can win the fight, then he might be aware that we can match him even harder in a different confederation. He is too old to boxes on the youth-titles … But it is instructive to boxes a match with the national anthem and all. On the way I can give him a great experience! he said.
– In the 1. game of smoke he is already to the count. There, I set him damn with liver-chopped, it sounded from an excited Oliver Møllenberg (2-0).
The talented 18-year-old easy-weltervægter from Gilleleje was proud.
His only second fight as a professional ended also with an ironclad victory – this time against the Serbian Mirko Jovic (2-9).
Møllenbergs blow shows and related diversions executed to UG was not surprisingly too large a mouthful of Saturday’s Serbian opponent – there is even smoke for the count already in the 1. place.
It was a total titles (now, 40-35, 40-35 and 40-35) to Oliver Møllenberg.
– I have gone four rounds, and it’s really cool! Instead of knockoute him already in 1. place, then I learn much more by walking all four, ” said Oliver Møllenberg to Ekstra Bladet.
I kept myself to gameplanen and conducted to the UG. I kept him at a distance all the time and did not take any big chances – even though I get a lot of hits in.
– There are still a lot of things that need to be worked on. But I have learned very much of the here battle. I need to work on my tempo-change and my jab. As a prof, you will have to have a jab, sitting straight. Mirko Jovic came with some quick rush, and suddenly he counter – and it was also cool to try to take some punches with small gloves. It’s damn something completely different, he said.
Manager Thomas Møllenberg was also a happy man:
– He is limping a little after with his jab. So it should really be worked on. But he boxer a technically good fight. He evades the fine and have a good look in the match itself. It was good he went for all four laps. It is skidegod experience. He must go home and work on his jab and change of pace.
– But he proves his worth. He has never bokset an elite-senior cap ever. It is only the second match ever that he is a boxer without a helmet. And him, the other was an experienced master. No world champion but a solid opponent.
