Paul Estermann waived by immediately on its membership of the Swiss Elite jumping squad. This although his lawyer has filed the appeal against the judgment of the district court of Willisau and after studying the grounds of judgment – which is expected to be available in a couple of weeks – with his client, will decide whether the appeal is held and the judgment of the second instance is moved. In Lucerne, this would be the cantonal court, a possible third and last instance is the Federal court.
With this step, Estermann would like to help the equestrian sports and the Swiss Association for horse sports (SVPS) and ensure that the Swiss jumping can riding vorbereten Equipe trouble-free on the new season, which takes place in the summer with the Olympic Games of Tokyo at its peak. The withdrawal from the squad means that Estermann will provisionally start for the Swiss team in the Nations cups and Championships. Charles Trolliet, President of the SVPS, welcomes the decision: “We are pleased and relieved that Paul estermann is provisionally in the squad. As a result, the Situation will be for the Rest of the team clear.” In October estermann had been taken – in spite of condemnation by the public Prosecutor’s office in Sursee – into the Olympic squad.
In national and international competitions for the 56-Year-old from Hildisrieden can participate, however. Due to the prevailing presumption of innocence of the SVPS is currently of any Association’s internal sanctions. “We don’t have more information than the media,” says Trolliet, “we must rest on the facts and can judge the case until later conclusive.”
Paul Estermann has also announced that he is on his own request, not at the CHI Geneva from 12. to 15. December 2019, and the CSI Basel from the 9. to 12. January 2020 is going to participate. (mke)
