Håndboldspilleren Louise Burgaard switches from the Herning-Ikast Handball to the French Metz from the upcoming season.

It informs the central jutland club on its website.

Bagspilleren Burgaard has played for the Danish club, who was previously a part of the FCM, in four seasons, but from this summer the French club, her new employer.

– I am and have always been happy to be here at the club, but I feel that it is the right time for me to try something new with a udlandseventyr.

– I have put a lot of emphasis on the fact that it is a club with a really strong culture, and that there are some players who are bigger stars than other, but that it is the team that is the star, says Louise Burgaard on the switch.

The 26-year-old højreback debuted on the A-national team in 2011. She was bruttotruppen towards the european championships in december, but she was sorted out from the final squad.

Director of the Herning-Ikast Jakob Mølgaard Christensen tells, that Burgaard has been a popular player.

– She is højreback, and there are not many of on the level in Europe at the moment.

– Therefore has several of the biggest clubs touched on about Louise Burgaard, who in his contract has opportunity to go abroad after the current season.

– It is of course a key player, we say goodbye to, but when that closes a door, opens also a new. We will now have the option to add the team weight at other key positions, says Jakob Mølgaard Christensen.
