Football Charity Match Raises Over €15 Million for UNICEF

Joe Cole and Eden Hazard, former players of LOSC, participated in the Soccer Aid for UNICEF charity match, raising over €15 million for the United Nations Children’s Fund.

This past Sunday, Stamford Bridge hosted the Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024 charity match, where England faced off against the Soccer Aid World XI FC. The Three Lions emerged victorious with a score of 6-3, marking their first win since 2018. The match raised a total of over €15 million.

Joe Cole and Eden Hazard, both former players of LOSC, returned to their old stomping grounds to the delight of the Blues fans in attendance. The two players put on a show, with Cole scoring the opening goal after six minutes and Hazard impressing with a free-kick goal. Other notable participants in the match included Alessandro Del Piero, Usain Bolt, Ellen White, Patrice Evra, Theo Walcott, and Kheira Hamraoui. At the final whistle, England emerged victorious, but the real winners were UNICEF, who have raised over €100 million since the inception of these charity matches in 2006.
