Novak Djokovic was disappointed with the 4:6, 3:6-defeat against Roger Federer of its performance. He didn’t do a lot right, he said, but it proved to be a fair loser. “He was in every aspect of the game better and deserved the win definitely.”
The Serbian was looking for no excuses. To the scene, as he had kept the elbow, he said, he had felt a sharp pain. “But I was able to finish the Match. It was probably just a strange encounter, later that was no longer a Problem.”

In the semi-final of Basel will take place on Saturday afternoon on either Rafael Nadal or Stefanos Tsitsipas meeting. He expects a completely different Match than against Djokovic. “Whether I’m a favorite, doesn’t matter to me,” he said. He was convinced that, once again, a very good performance. “It is clear: After this victory, I can go with a lot of confidence in the semi-final. But I don’t dream from the title.”
The route is clear: Federer will again act on the offensive, the Initiative to tear. “Is one still better, I can accept that. What I cannot accept is to play: gently and then lose.”
