Maurizio Sarri can’t believe his eyes. It is the last Minute runs in the extension of the Ligacup-Finals. The head coach of Chelsea would like to replace the shoot to his Goalie, the 24-year-old Kepa Arrizabalaga Revuelta, prior to the penalty. Substitute goalkeeper “Willy” Daniel Caballero, a proven penalty killer, is ready on the side line, after Kepa had to be maintained for a few minutes before due to convulsive phenomena. But then the Unimaginable happens: The goalkeeper refuses vehemently against his replacement. Over several minutes, the Theater attracts. Also, the defense player David Luiz can’t persuade his Keeper to Go. Sarri on the side line discards the hands and raging, is apparently on the verge of leaving the stadium.
The day after that talk, at least in the media all a big misunderstanding. Nevertheless, Kepa seems its already included Trainer, and in Public, discredited and ridiculed.
How do you deal as a Trainer with such a Situation? What are the consequences of such a behavior for all parties Involved? And how credible are the explanations provided? We asked four current and former coaches.

“A player shall not be so selfish, because a coach makes decisions for the good of the team”
Pierluigi Tami, what consequences do you expect for the Trainer?
The Association must make it clear in behind-the-Trainer, or else this big has problems. In addition, the Association must bear the consequences.
May allow a player anything at all? How would you handle the Situation?
As a coach you have to clear it with the players. I would hold on to the place of the circus, but after that, it needs to be clarified. A player is not allowed to be so selfish, because a coach makes his decisions for the good of the team.
you Have experienced in your career like that?
no, this is something I’ve never come across.
What say you to the claims made by Sarri and Kepa, that it was just a big misunderstanding?
could arise That in today’s soccer , such a misunderstanding would be very funny. Difficult, that something like this happens.

“As a coach, one is faced with a problem of Authority
Giorgio Contini faced”, how would you react as a coach, if your goalkeeper does not replace?
This is difficult to say. I know my Goalie, and he would certainly not enjoy if I wanted to replace him before the penalty shoot-out. Therefore, it is certainly not optimal, and as a coach, one is faced with a problem of Authority confronts.
What are the consequences of that behavior?
I would certainly carry on a conversation with the player. However, I did not know exactly how the player would sanction. There are various possibilities: The apology in front of the whole Team, a fine of up to really drastic measures, such as a game lock. Myself is something happened as a coach.
For how credible you hold the statement that it was just a misunderstanding?
of Course something like this happens again and again. As a coach, it is very focused and may not always communicate all the same. Therefore one has to rely on his Staff consisting of Doctors and Physio.

“players, the decisions of the Coach have to accept and finish”
Murat Yakin, how do you assess the scene of the alleged substitution of Kepa in the Ligacup-Final from Sunday?
although I have not seen any pictures, but from the incident read. The authority of the Trainer is totally undermined. So a Cup final is not on an emotional level so easy. The responsibility of the coach. It is he who is sent, if it goes wrong. We promote self-responsibility among the players – all well and good, but this selfishness is often. The selfish Thinking is becoming increasingly worse. To replace, in this case, the false ambition of the Goalies.
What are the consequences should such behavior in your opinion?
players have to accept the decisions of the Coach and ready. Can discuss things later. Or even send away I would not punish.

“I have a Forte, that is a misunderstanding”
Uli, how would you rate the scene in the Ligacup-Final on Sunday?
Well, first of all, I have not understood, whether Kepa was really hurt or not. It looked as if it wasn’t for the Goalie due to cramps. In such a case, the player must decide whether he is fit or not. Kepa signaled that he could continue to play. What is not, is not, if a player is at 100 percent then he needs to get out.
you do not believe, therefore, that the players went on strike against his replacement?
I assume that this is a misunderstanding, that should be no big issue.
Have you ever gone through something like this?
it was not just that a field player could. The then came out briefly for treatment, but ultimately, it was more for him, and I had to pull my exchange. You have to give the players the confidence and listen to him. (Tages-Anzeiger.ch/Newsnet)
