Imke Courtois will be the host for the 3 pm matches. Tess Elst will take over for the 6 pm matches, and Karl Vannieuwkerke will be in charge of the evening matches at 9 pm. However, he will only follow football until the quarter-finals, as he will then focus on the Tour de France. Tess Elst will replace him. Although she will have to let Vannieuwkerke take over for the first match of the Red Devils against Slovakia. “Oh, I don’t easily get offended. It’s my first major tournament: so it seems logical to rely on Karl’s expertise for a match that hopefully will attract one and a half million viewers,” she says. However, she will replace Vannieuwkerke at the end of the tournament. “I will take over for the semi-finals and the final. If the Red Devils make it that far, then it’s up to me,” she laughs. Still, Elst does not expect to have to talk about the Red Devils at that point. “They can always prove us wrong. Very much, indeed.
