MANCHESTER (Dagbladet): Ole Gunnar Solskjær (45) has talked warmly about mentor Alex Ferguson since he took over the job as the vicarious manager of Manchester United.

Ferguson has been at Manchester United-training, and Solskjær has at several occasions uses the chance to speak about their teacher at conferences in the last month.

Several people have pointed out how great a role Ferguson has had and local newspaper the Manchester Evening News claims, among other things, that the legendary scotsman to be “very, very involved” in what happens in the club on the day.

According to a source in the locker room of Manchester United, Ferguson will have helped Solskjær with both withdrawals and analysis in the forefront of the battles, argues the newspaper.

“Even if laguttakene rests total on Solskjær, valuing the Norwegian” opinions so highly that he has sought advice when it comes to manchester United’s lineups,” wrote the Manchester Evening News among others.

Such was the ” Solskjær-visit – Not talking much

In an interview toner, however, Solskjær claims that Ferguson plays an active role on the day.

– We don’t talk weekly, ” says Solskjær about Ferguson, according to the English Evening Standard.

I have not spoke many times with him. He has only visited us one time – he has been and seen the Rossi one time, ” says Solskjær, who refers to the former Manchester United player Giuseppe Rossi, who trained with the club recently.

Ferguson followed a United training at Carrington for a few weeks ago. Then confirmed Solskjær that the scotsman had been at the training ground.

– I hold him oriented. He was back on a visit Saturday, and I think he enjoyed the time on the training ground. We had a nice chat and he encouraged us. He knows very well the staff I have in Manchester United, and he knows that we will do everything we can as long as we are here. We will do everything that Manchester United does it as good as possible, ” said Solskjær.

the local newspaper reveals: – Ferguson is very, very involved – a Lot of contact

During his very first press conference as Manchester United manager, got Solskjær questions about how much influence Sir Alex Ferguson has had in that old Norwegian got the chance as a temporary manager.

I have been in contact with the boss pretty much, yes, ” said Solskjær to the Newspaper and continued:

– Well, he signed me for 22 years ago, so he is the big reason of course. But I don’t know what kind of impact he had. When I got the phone, so I sent of course a message to the boss. I have been in contact with him, and I shall enjoy a cup of tea in his house and sit down and discuss some ideas.

Solskjær reviews Ferguson still as “The Boss” or “The Gaffer”. He told in December that he had already got some advice of gamlesjefen in his new job.

Ferguson has influenced me in everything. The way he treated people, the way he was as a manager in the club. How he held 25 international players happy and hungry, and that they would improve themselves, but also the support system around him. He has been my mentor. I did not understand early on that he would be my mentor, but ever since the injury my in 2003, I took notes of what he did in different situations. I have of course already been in contact with him, for there is no one better to get advice off, told Solskjær.

– Not just

Although the duo had a lot of contact before Solskjær took over as manager, there is much to suggest that Ferguson isn’t as involved as many would expect, at least not directly.

the Influence is more my 15 years under him. He is 77 years, so it is also not fair to him, is it? says Solskjær, with reference to the fact that Ferguson starts to drag a bit in years and, after all, is not a coach anymore.

Ferguson was in may of last year, affected by the cerebral hemorrhage and was fighting for his life. The scot was hasteinnlagt in the hospital and operated upon, and was discharged a few weeks afterwards. Now it seems he is to be back in the old kind.

Ferguson is at times in the VIP box at Old Trafford, and it’s probably not the last time he visits the training ground Carrington this season.

Ferguson led Manchester United between 1986 and 2013. He won among other 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League gold with the red.
