Trainers coach Steve Kerr stated he has witnessed a lights delay”perhaps a handful of times” throughout his career, but he didn’t believe the stoppage had some effect on his team’s play — with both teams playing the second night of a back-to-back.

“I don’t believe it played a role.”

Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson also said this was the first time he’d ever played in a match using a light delay, before recalling another stoppage that happened during his professional debut at the Las Vegas Summer League on July 5, 2019.

“I have been a part of a match in which an earthquake happened and stopped the match,” Williamson explained. “Been around a little bit.”
