“Thailand: Elefantungar saved from the mud streams”
“Six elefantungar which for several days remained in a muddy pit and not been able to get out of there, have been saved by parkvakter in Thailand.”
“It was last Wednesday afternoon that the patrolling parkvakter found elefantungarna who fought to get out of the mud in a national park to the east of the capital, Bangkok.”
“Parkchefen Prawatsart Chantheap tells us that parkvakterna quickly realized that elefantungarna could not get out of the mud. Some of the parkvaktargruppen gave as the way to retrieve backhoes, and a few others stayed overnight to monitor the petrified animals.”
“– the next Morning came our team with the picks and began to dig around the edge of the pit in order to make it less steep.”
“After three hours had dug enough to be able to build a makeshift ramp and the muddy animals were to end, one after the other, stumbling against the solid ground while parkvakterna cheered on them.”
“– Come on! Follow one after the other! Come on children, come on, you hear parkvakterna cry in a video that the national park published.”
“Prawatsart Chantheap says that parkvakterna previously had noticed a herd of 30 adult elephants in a nearby area and that the cubs are likely to belong to the flock.”
“There are about 2 700 wild elephants in Thailand.”
