It is certainly not good, since Ayaka Ikehara on Wednesday evening had to be carried from the pitch by its coach after an accident in the fight between Nykøbing Falster handball club and TTH Holstebro.
as the winger scored for 5-3 after eight minutes, but landed so wrong, that there potentially can be a quite serious injury.
Teammate Kristina Kristiansen was also affected by the injury, as TV2 interviewed her after the match.
– She lies and cries and is very upset by it. It was her good knee, so it is really hard. It hurts inside the heart to see her like that, but we are keeping our fingers crossed, says Kristiansen to TV2 SPORT.
It was coach Jakob Larsen, that on its own bar the 28-year-old japanese out of the track, and the coach seemed not quite positive on his player’s behalf after the match.
– There have been a doctor tending to her, and you can’t say anything before an MRI scan. We fear the worst, says coach Jakob Larsen for TV2.
Now she had an MRI scan, and so, she should probably have surgery when the swelling has subsided in a few weeks. She is out for a long time.
Despite the damage won NFH the match with a 25-17. The club is number two in the HTH league – seven points after the sovereign Odense – but they are now definitely ready for the playoffs.
