Vincent Collet, coach of the France team, after the victory against Venezuela on Monday in Orléans: “It’s still a start of preparation, the matches are close together, we only did 5-6 training sessions together. The matches help us to progress, there is a real concentration on the objectives that we set for ourselves. We wanted to improve the relationship with the inside, we improved it in terms of giving the ball inside, we still have work to do to bring it out. We also wanted to improve the speed of execution in all phases of the game. This is the first match out of the three where we have raised better, it is one of our usual strong points. Our team has what it takes to dominate many teams inside. In these matches, you have to learn how to win and since the beginning of our preparation we have considered the double test against Lithuania as an important moment. It will sanction our first block.

Rudy Gobert, pivot of the France team: “In terms of the state of mind, the concentration, the overall energy of the group, it is one of the best beginnings of preparation that I have been able to experience. We play very different teams, they always do something that means we have to be better than the day before. We try to progress on the positions and on how to find us, and then know how to deviate well, to place ourselves, so that we can bring out the balls well. I find that we are gaining momentum at this level. We try to balance our game, to be able to punish the teams at this level.
