American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was beaten for the first time this season in the 100m on Tuesday in Székesfehérvár (Hungary).
Richardson was never able to catch up with an average start and crossed the line in 10 sec 97 (wind of 0.7 m/s), overtaken by Saint-Lucienne Julien Alfred (10.89), 22-year-old athlete star of university competitions Americans.
Richardson (23) thus suffered her first defeat on the straight in nine races in 2023. On Sunday, she had hit hard by dominating the Jamaican Shericka Jackson, the best performer in the world, at the meeting in Chorzow (Poland).
After missing the 2021 Olympics due to a positive cannabis test, then the 2022 Worlds in Eugene (Oregon, USA), Richardson has returned to her best level and is one of the favorites for the Budapest Worlds ( August 19-27).
