Jimmy Vicaut quickly cut his effort during the 100m of the Stockholm Diamond League meeting run in the pouring rain on Sunday, overtaken by hamstring pain, he told AFP.

“I felt a small spike in the hamstrings, at 20-30 meters, I will do an MRI when I get back and we will see the rest of the season”, explained Vicaut (31 years old), while the French Championships have take place at the end of the month, in Albi, and the Worlds-2023 in seven weeks, in Budapest (August 19-27). “In the warm-up, it was fine. Afterwards it was cold, it’s raining, but I was still quite confident, ”added the French sprinter, expected in theory in five days in Sotteville-lès-Rouen.

Vicaut, holder of the French 100m record in 9 sec 86 since 2015, has his best time in 2023 in his 10 sec 06 run in Paris in early June.
