Frenchman Ugo Humbert, 38th player in the world, beat his compatriot Constant Lestienne in three sets (4-6, 7-5, 7-5) on Tuesday in the first round of the ATP 250 tournament in Atlanta (hard), where Corentin Moutet was taken out by the Chinese Wu Yibing, 89th in the world (6-3, 6-4).

Humbert is the last tricolor still in contention in Atlanta, after Gael Monfils’ defeat against Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis on Monday.

The 25-year-old left-hander will play South African Lloyd Harris (204th in the world) in the next round.
