Badminton Worlds: Frenchmen Gicquel and Delrue eliminated in 8th place in mixed doubles

Last representatives of the French team competing at the World Badminton Championships, Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue were eliminated in the round of 16 of the mixed doubles on Thursday in Copenhagen.

After taking the first set, the young French pair (24 years old each) cracked against the Malaysians Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, 17th in the world (20-22, 21-19, 21-12).

One year before the Paris-2024 Olympics, the reigning double European vice-champions are the only French badistes to have reached the round of 16.
