Two days before hosting Monaco, Friday evening (6:45 p.m.), the management of the Turkish club decided to shake up everything on the sidelines. In a press release published on the club’s Twitter account, Dimitris Itoudis was thanked by the Istanbul club.
In office since the 2022-2023 season, the coach of the Greek selection will still have experienced the play-offs with Fenerbahçe. A series lost against Olympiakos (3 – 2) despite the Turks having pushed the series into 5 games. Since the start of the season, the Istanbul team was still looking for itself and was in 12th place in the Euroleague with a negative record (6 wins for 7 losses).
Discussions are still underway to name a replacement for Dimitris Itoudis, but the Turkish management has great ambitions and wants to find a coach capable of bringing the team back to the Final Four. On Friday evening (6:45 p.m.), Monaco will travel to the Ülker Sports Arena. A test for the Istanbulites who will therefore face a team from the last Final Four.
