The International Basketball Federation (Fiba), which had opened a disciplinary procedure after the report made by Asvel feminine denouncing the behavior of the coach of the Romanian club Sfantu Gheorghe towards its player Gabby Williams, sentenced this club to 2000 EUR fine.

“The decision states that the coach had unacceptable behavior with a player from the opposing team,” wrote Fiba in a press release published Thursday where it announced the sanction. The body indicated last Friday that it had opened proceedings before a single FIBA ​​Europe judge “in relation to an incident which took place during the Euroleague match between Lyon Asvel and ACS Sepsi-SIC (Sfantu Gheorghe), involving a player of the home team and the head coach of the visiting team.

Two days before, Asvel had announced that it had made a report to the delegate of the match played against Sfantu Gheorghe the day before, concerning the behavior of opposing coach Zoran Mikes towards Gabby Williams, 27 years old.
