Strong Franco-Haitian winger Yves Pons is leaving Villeurbanne, Asvel announced on Tuesday.

Pons (24) had arrived at the Rhone club by signing for a two-year contract. The two parties have reached an agreement for an early breakup.

Yves Pons had notably won the dunks competition on the program of the last All Star Game, at the end of December at Paris Bercy.

With Matthew Strazel (Monaco), Pons was called up as a training partner for the France team in preparation for the World Cup in Pau (August 25-September 10 in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia) to replace injured Ousmane Dieng and Jaylen Hoard.
