Four days after its elimination in the semi-final of the Champions League by Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, in a profoundly revised version, easily won on Sunday at home against Wolfsburg (2-0), during the 33rd day of the German Championship.

Thanks to this success, the Munich residents will enter the 34th and final day of the championship in second place with two points ahead of Stuttgart (72 against 70), the title having been acquired several weeks ago by Leverkusen.

Next Saturday at Hoffenheim, they will be able to settle for a draw to finish in second place barring a very improbable Swabian victory by 17 goals against Borussia Mönchengladbach (Bayern has a goal difference of 51 against 35 for Stuttgart).

The place of runner-up is not only symbolic since if Leverkusen succeeds in the Championship/German Cup double, it is the 2nd in the Bundesliga that it will face in August in the Super Cup.

For his last match on the Bayern bench at the Allianz Arena, Thomas Tuchel only fielded four of the starting players last Wednesday at Santiago-Bernabeu against Real (Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic).

The Munich residents made the difference in the first quarter of an hour with Lovro Zvonarek (4th) who scored his first goal with Bayern with the help of the post, then Leon Goretzka (13th) at the conclusion of a nice combination.
