RB Leipzig striker Dani Olmo has extended his contract with the German club until 2027, the club announced on Thursday.

Olmo, 25, was under contract until 2024. Having managed to extend it is a success for Leipzig, given the interest the striker had aroused with several big clubs, in Germany and abroad.

“RB Leipzig are a fantastic club in a fantastic city with fantastic fans, and I’m really happy with this contract extension,” he said in a statement issued by the club.

Trained at FC Barcelona, ​​Olmo, a Spanish international (30 caps, 6 goals) made his mark in the Croatian championship, wearing the Dinamo Zagreb jersey between 2014 and January 2020, when he joined RB Leipzig.

In 122 appearances in all competitions for the German club, he scored 21 goals and managed 29 assists. Leipzig, qualified for the next Champions League after finishing in 3rd place in the Bundesliga, will play the German Cup final in Berlin on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt.
