Bayer Leverkusen conceded a draw early Saturday evening against Borussia Mönchengladbach (0-0), a result that suits Bayern Munich, which is back to two points in the standings on the evening of the 19th day. Xabi Alonso’s men continue their series of 28 matches without defeat, in all competitions, and retain their leadership position with 49 points (15 wins and 4 draws), two more than Bayern Munich, winner in the afternoon on the lawn of Bavarian neighbor Augsburg (3-2).

Dominant from start to finish of the match, with 67% ball possession, 19 shots, including 8 on target, the Werkself (the “factory eleven”, nickname of the club team founded by the chemist Bayer in 1904) did not manage to find the fault at the end of the match.

Since the resumption of the Bundesliga, Leverkusen remained on two victories won with forceps in Augsburg (1-0) and Leipzig (3-2), each time in added time.

Bayern will host Mönchengladbach next week and Leverkusen will go to the outskirts of Frankfurt in Darmstadt, on behalf of the 20th day, before a summit in Leverkusen between the two teams which dominate the Bundesliga this season.
