Atlético Madrid will be without its Dutch striker Memphis Depay, victim of a “muscle injury” in his left leg, for the reception of Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday in the Champions League, the Spanish club announced Monday. The 30-year-old Madrid striker was injured in training on Saturday and has since undergone several tests which confirmed his injury. Atlético does not specify his duration of unavailability, but according to the local press, he could be absent for three weeks and therefore also miss the quarter-final second leg of C1 in Dortmund, on April 16.

In the previous round, Depay, who came on in the 79th minute, scored a decisive goal in the 87th minute in the return match against Inter Milan, allowing the Madrilenians to snatch extra time on their lawn, before qualifying for the shots on goal (2-1, 3-2 on the tabs).
