Since his victory in the Giro last May, Slovenian Primoz Roglic has been absent from the peloton. The Jumbo-Visma rider will participate in the Vuelta on August 26 with his team. At 33, he is aiming for a fourth final victory after that of 2019, 2020 and 2021. To prepare as well as possible, the Slovenian has entered the Tour de Burgos from August 15 to 19.
After a long altitude training course in Tignes, Roglic hopes to have the legs to shine on this edition of the Tour of Spain. Last year, he was forced to retire after a big crash while wearing the leader’s red jersey. The competition will be tough this year, in addition to a strong course, he will have to show himself above the outgoing winner Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) or his teammate Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma).
